Black Radio Stations created Elvis - Not the White Stations
Memphis (IFS) - It is amazing that some of the African-America Community in Memphis is not that happy with Elvis. They are jealous that he has received so much attention for his music, when other musicians at the same time and place were completely overlooked. To review some of Elvis’ mis-adventures in the music business; first the White Radio stations did not play any of Elvis’ recordings for the first several years. The only radio station play that he received were from Black radio stations in the US.
To say that, it appears that the Black Radio stations created Elvis, and it spread like wild fire from there. It retrospect, Black Radio created the giant that the Memphis African - American community do not really like. Remember, the White radio stations refused to play any recordings of this young artist — at first!
