D-Town Records
IFS-Simi Valley, CA - “There’s unauthorized usage of the D-Town Records name,”…SDC OmniMedia Chief Operating Officer Debby Clinton acknowledged in an interview this week. “Do we have a problem with it? I wouldn’t call it a problem. Do we have an awareness of it, and is D-Town Records of Dallas, TX a good-faith partner in the process right now? Yes.”
Clinton observed that DTR Records is “growing like crazy, and when you’re growing that fast, you’re just trying to keep up with the tidal wave of consumer activity. ”… They’re running as fast as they possibly can, and we are capitalizing on their current talent pool with our releases of our 57 year old artist catalog, and it’s working out for us. A Win-Win situation. However, we will start our process to out spend them by doubling our artist roster and research and development in the song writing publisher’s arena.
This is Nate Edwards CEO of Eieg,LLC/ dba D-Town Records here in Dallas, Texas I would like to say we have had limited interaction with SDC OmniMedia. When I started DTR there was no other D-Town out there. Dallas has always been known as D-Town and Houston as H-Town that how we came up with the name. We at DTR is focused on bringing back real music, that’s why we signed groups like the Platinum and Grammy award winning group like The Deele and in negotiations with the Ohio Players. We are teaming them up with our younger artist to train and mentor there talents. Even though we have rappers on the label, we have them read and write with lyrical content. We figure the best way to change the message is to do it 1 word at a time. The rappers are seeing that they don’t have to be gangster to be a success. I would love to talk with SDC OmniMedia Chief Operating Officer Miss Debby Clinton and see how we can work together to bring back classic hits.
Thanks
Nate Edwards
