Celebrate Dr. Kings legacy and honor “Hip Hop” community leaders at the King County Executive’s Awards for Excellence in Hip Hop and MUSICA Festival

Award ceremony to feature music performances, comedy , keynote speeches and presentation of the King County Executives Awards For Excellence In Hip Hop.

Seattle, WA — Martin Luther King Jr. will be celebrated through music, comedy, and speech at the King County Executive’s Awards for Excellence in Hip Hop presented during the MUSICA Festival, 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 18 at the Columbia City Theatre, 4916 Rainier Avenue South. Tickets for this event are available at www.BrownPaperTickets.com/event/95577.

The Martin Luther King Jr. County Executive’s Hip Hop award acknowledges and honors innovative performance, community service and entrepreneurial achievement by locally based members of the hip-hop community whose work has had significant impact in King County.

Former Washington State Senator Dawn Mason and Activist Eddie Rye Jr. will give keynote addresses. This festive King Holiday celebration is hosted by comedian Nate Jackson. KUBE 93 fm radio personality Tony B is the Master of Ceremonies and KISS 106 fm morning personality “Jubal” will entertain the audience with his comedic stylings as well.

Musical guests include a line-up of a few of King County’s outstanding vocalists: Mycle Wastman, Adrian Sims, Shawna Locey and Jennifer Newberry. Tacoma Rapper/Producer “Roderic”, a former winner of Showtime at the Apollo performs along with “jerk” dance group “SickWitIt and Marcel Robinson. The MUSICA Festival honors the legacy of Dr. King while raising awareness to the name change of King County to “Martin Luther King County” and logo change from a crown to the likeness of Dr. King.

The takes place at the Columbia City Theatre, Seattle, WA 98118, 4916 Rainier Avenue South. Tickets are scaled at $10.00 in advance general admission, $15.00 general admission at the door and $25.00 VIP reserved seating. Doors open at 6:00 pm and the show begins at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. LIMON, CO (IFS) - D-Town Records releases the much desired collection to be of the complete Bernadette Bascom era, when she was one of the premiere night club entertainers to ever dominate the young Pacific Northwest including Canada. Best know as a local Baltimore radio station DJ that skyrocketed to national fame with the Fair-stair Steps, an singer with Stevie Wonder’s Wonderlove groups.

LIMON (IFS) - It’s hard to believe that a person can be convicted on all counts of very bad police investigations and mishandling of this case. It is sad for the victim, but even worst for justice. A very weak case, very bad ruling by the Judges, and contaminated evidence by the police. The justice in Italy convicted Ms. Knox on personal effects, like her life style, condoms, she smoked weed, her sex life, etc. They had it in for Ms. Knox from the beginning. When you are threaten by the police that keep you in jail and beat you up, heck I would say anything to keep them off me. None of this had nothing to do with the case. I totally endorse the boycotting of all Italian products, but justice must be done. Justice was not served at all.

HOLLYWOOD (IS) - Long time songwriter and record producer Linda Lou Kestin has departed the Keristene Music Publishing Group as Vice-President, and has tendered her resignation as of November 9, 2009. Kestin’s abrupt resignation comes at a time when negotiations with EMI Music Publishing Group, who is interested in acquiring the 38 year old publishing arm of D-Town Records. There was no word as to Kestin’s newest adventure and future plans, but Keristene Music Publishing Group wish her all the best.
